Szüreti Torna is a rapid chess tournament held in Apc, a village in Heves County, Hungary. It takes place in the main hall of the Apc Community Center on Petőfi Sándor út. The Municipality of Apc and the Apci Chess Club organize this harvest-time chess event. The format is designed for both registered players and amateurs. Games are quick, with each player receiving 10 minutes plus a 3-second increment per move, favoring sharp calculation, clock management, and practical decisions.
The tournament employs a 7-round Swiss system, allowing players to continue after losses and pairing them against similarly scoring opponents. Group A is the FIDE-rated section, offering cash prizes for the top five finishers, material prizes down to tenth place, and entry-fee exemptions for highly rated players and recent champions. Group B is more accessible, requiring no competition license and targeting players below the 1500 FIDE rating or those without a FIDE rating. Additional cups and certificates are awarded to the best junior, female player, senior players, and local Apc player who did not receive other awards, extending the prize distribution beyond the overall winners.
