Badacsony and the Balaton Uplands National Park define the Tanúhegyek Trail: this is a trail race over the region’s witness hills, with the route covering one, three, or five of them depending on the course. From the summits, you get “dazzling views of Lake Balaton” and the Balaton Uplands in full autumn color. This means you have earned the view with your legs.
The start and finish are at Halászkert in Badacsonytomaj, giving the day a compact trail-race feel where everyone returns to the same place covered in dust and leaves. Expect climbs, open views, national park terrain, and a field that includes runners with dogs on the shortest race. A nice quirk: the timing chip deposit can be donated to Ürömi Animal Shelter, a small tradition runners remember after the finish line fades.
