Badacsony and the Balaton Uplands National Park provide the setting: volcanic witness hills, autumn color, and open views that make you forget to check your watch. The Tanúhegyek Trail is a trail race in “one of the most beautiful parts of the Balaton Uplands National Park,” with routes that take in one, three, or five witness hills depending on your chosen distance.
The start and finish are at Halászkert in Badacsonytomaj, establishing a clear base before heading into the hills. Expect trail surfaces, climbing, and “dazzling views of Lake Balaton” and the “Balaton Uplands glowing in autumn colors” when the course allows. A dog-friendly race is offered on the shortest route, and runners can donate the timing chip deposit to Ürömi Animal Shelter.
