The Villány Hills serve as the setting: Tenkes, Máriagyűd, Nagy-hegy, and Túröny are connected via marked tourist paths for the XXI running of a traditional performance hike. It caters to runners and hikers interested in the Tenkes area trails, as well as individuals seeking outdoor activity for health, social connection, and fresh air.
Each route forms a loop. The longer routes are challenging, featuring over a thousand meters of elevation gain and multiple visits to the Máriagyűd aid station, allowing participants to assess their needs before proceeding. Organizers clearly state the longer routes are for experienced trail users comfortable with navigation by markers and a written guide; the shorter loops are more accessible, intended for novices, families with young children, and older walkers. A unique feature is the Tenkes triathlon badge, with completion milestones recorded on numbered pins, such as 10x and 20x.
