From Szent Imre Catholic School, the course follows the Ráckevei-Duna side into a small, human-scale race rather than a mass-start scrum. The V. Kis-Duna Maraton maintains a deliberately family-like atmosphere: the organizers state they “do not chase entry records,” which reveals much about the character of the day.
Underfoot conditions are mostly asphalt with some firm gravel and dirt, on low-traffic roads through Fanyilas, Somlyó, Dámsd, Tassi zsilip, the edge of Csepel Island, Makád, Szigetbecse, and returning toward Keszeg sor. Children have their own traditional Bunny Run on the Danube bank before the main races, integrating families into the morning's events. Finishers receive a unique medal, chip timing, and the runner-friendly reward of a bowl of hot goulash and cake afterward.
