Below Solymár Castle, the second SzalamandRUN embraces the edge-of-the-Buda-hills setting: a trail-running event with varied starts for children, novice runners, those seeking a moderate effort, and participants preferring a more challenging course. The routes are immersed in nature, deviating from urban circuits, with the race hub, start, and finish located in the vicinity beneath the castle.
Expect a blend of forest paths and asphalt sections, marked by painted arrows, ribbons, and signs, requiring attention to your surroundings as you run. Participants on longer courses must carry a phone and water, indicating the event's character. The day accommodates families, runners aged 60 and over, and competitive age-group participants, with an environmentally aware approach adding a thoughtful element. All finishers receive a medal, with timing, refreshments, and hot food available post-race.
