About this race
Nove Colli begins and ends in Cesenatico, where thousands of amateur cyclists depart the Adriatic coast for the hills of Romagna. This cycling granfondo, held annually since 1971, is likely Italy’s largest cycling event by participation, limited to approximately 11,000 riders.
The name translates to “nine hills,” as the complete course features nine distinct ascents. Participants can select either a 130 km medium route or a 188 km long route, each with varying climbing distances and elevation gains; the long route previously extended to 200 km. The event also includes a running race: Nove Colli Running is a 200 km ultramarathon following nearly the same course, with a 30-hour time limit.
