The Alpe Adria Ultra Trail features the Jof Trail, a 48 km mountain race from Dogna to Valbruna's Polveriera. It is classified as advanced, with 3,900 metres of elevation gain and a 16-hour time limit, indicating a demanding day rather than a casual trail run. The participant limit is 100, and the race begins early Saturday with two start waves. Italian participants require a medical certificate. Logistics are managed via shuttles between the Polveriera finish area and the Dogna start.
The course begins with the 27 km Jof Trail route, then incorporates the Pellarini section, forming the complete run between Val Saisera and Val Dogna. Participants travel through the mountains surrounding the Montasio massif, with vistas towards Mangart. The Polveriera checkpoint is at 27 km; runners arriving after the morning cutoff are designated Jof Trail finishers and do not continue on the longer course. The Pellarini section is encountered later, around 37 km, placing the most challenging mountain ascents towards the end of the race.
