The Elba Challenge Run, a four-stage race on the Island of Elba, takes place in late May, spanning multiple towns. Though in its second edition, the event holds significant standing, counting towards the UISP Tuscany regional stage-race championship and serving as the A.I.C.S. national championship for stage races.
The course crosses various island locations, including sections within Portoferraio and Marciana Marina. Participants can opt for the complete four-stage competitive race. Non-competitive options are available for the first and third stages, which are also open to Nordic walkers on the running course. Registration is open to athletes affiliated with FIDAL, UISP, EPS, or RUNCARD, provided they possess a sports medical certificate. The race also functions as a memorial for Enzo Landi, Angelo Re, Mara Verri, and Gianni Vaccari. Associated travel packages may encompass the Piombino-Portoferraio ferry, half-board hotel accommodation, beverages during meals, and race entry.
