Emilia Gravel is a self-supported gravel ride through Italy’s Emilia region, featuring a long route of approximately 300 km and 5,400 meters of elevation gain. It crosses the provinces of Piacenza, Parma, and Reggio Emilia. The ride operates without time limits, making the challenge about managing distance, terrain, and personal pace rather than meeting a cutoff.
The route incorporates gravel roads, bike paths, and country tracks, passing through villages like Castell’Arquato, Vigoleno, and Torrechiara. Participants will also encounter challenging ascents, such as the climb to the Castle of Canossa. The event is designed for various gravel riders, from those new to trail riding to seasoned bikepackers, and its structure includes two route choices and two base camps.
