About this race
Rampiconero is an autumn mountain bike race based in Camerano, in the Ancona province of Italy’s Marche region. Its main Granfondo route is 46 km with 1,550 meters of climbing and a high point of 564 meters, so it is a short but hard race rather than a long rolling ride. There is also a 27 km short route for ciclotourists, excursion riders, and e-bikes. Riders start from the Palasport in Camerano, with competitive and amateur racers leaving first and the ciclotourist and e-bike field starting shortly after. The event is organized by ASD Crazy Bike and also carries the name Trofeo città di Camerano.
The route stays inside Conero Park and climbs Monte Conero, with sections near the summit and passages by the Sassi Neri beach at Sirolo. The riding includes trails, singletrack, and technical descents, with views over the Adriatic, the hills, and the vineyards of the Rosso Conero wine road. The Granfondo course has four aid stations and a checkpoint at the end of trail 305 that race officials may close if needed. The field ranges from strong elite riders to amateurs, with past unofficial results showing the front of the men’s race finishing a little over two hours. Race support includes local medical crews from Camerano and Sirolo and radio communication from Ancona radio amateurs.
