About this race
The Gavia Mortirolo Gravel Experience is a two-day gravel ride in Ponte di Legno, located in Valle Camonica, taking place in July. The route passes under the Gavia and Mortirolo passes. Gravel bikes, MTBs, and E-MTBs are permitted, positioning it as an adventure ride rather than a traditional road granfondo. Boost Events developed this format for participants seeking alpine climbs, unpaved roads, and a structured mountain weekend, with the flexibility to complete both days or select a single day.
The complete route begins in Ponte di Legno, heading towards Mortirolo for the first stage. This section covers approximately 80 km with 1,970 meters of elevation gain, concluding with an overnight stay in either a hotel or a tent. The second stage departs from Mortirolo, circles back through Ponte di Legno, and then utilizes a cable car to ascend Passo Tonale. Riders will conclude the event back in Ponte di Legno by bike. This day also spans about 80 km, featuring 2,770 meters of climbing, of which 1,000 meters are covered by the cable car. Two professional cycling guides will accompany the group, offering participants the opportunity to ride roads historically significant to the Giro d’Italia without the pressure of a competitive road race.
