Gran Fondo Marathon Bike della Brianza

Marathonbike della Brianza is a mountain bike marathon in Casatenovo, Brianza, Lombardy, organized by Bike Action Team Galgiana. The primary Classic route covers 49 km off-road with 1,200 meters of elevation gain, designed for a true MTB challenge, not a flat group ride. It is listed on the Italian national mountain bike calendar and began in 1992, when over a thousand participants started a 46 km point-to-point race. The course features two of the event's former demanding sections: Montevecchia, including the climb known as il Cancello, and San Genesio, designated as the official King of the Mountains climb. The event holds significant importance in Italian MTB history; it once attracted 3,000 participants, hosted two national championship rounds, and celebrated past anniversaries with events such as a wet 20th running and a Revival course. A distinct 10 km “The Origins” route uses the original trails and is intended for past participants, who may use vintage bicycles.
