About
The Sportful Dolomiti Race is a June cycling granfondo held in Feltre, Belluno province, set against the challenging terrain of the Dolomites. Organizers state it is Europe’s hardest granfondo, a claim supported by the long route's 204 km and 4,900 meters of elevation gain. Over 5,000 amateur cyclists participate, drawing participants from numerous countries beyond the local Veneto cycling community.
Riders select one of two routes, both commencing in Feltre and concluding in Piazza Maggiore. The full Granfondo route crosses locations like Cesiomaggiore, San Gregorio nelle Alpi, Agordo, Alleghe, Palafavera, Fusine, Sagron, and Passo Cereda. Key ascents include Forcella Franche, Passo Staulanza, Passo Duran, Forcella Aurine, and Passo Cereda. The concluding ascent is Passo Croce d’Aune, site of a monument to Tullio Campagnolo, the Italian cyclist and inventor whose legacy remains central to road cycling equipment.
