Granfondo La Prevostura

La Prevostura is a national MTB gran fondo held in Lessona, within the Biella area of northern Piedmont. Participants compete in a technical mountain bike race across the Lessonesi hills, a wine-growing region of Alto Piemonte known for its varied terrain. This event has been held for over 24 years, establishing itself as a well-regarded mountain bike race in Italy. The course features trails, singletrack, and old cart roads with clay, sand, and gravel surfaces, demanding both handling skills and physical conditioning. The hills surrounding Lessona have sunshine and vineyards, offering expansive views towards the Biellese Prealps and the Serra Morenica of Ivrea. The participant list includes European-level champions, local and visiting amateurs, and enthusiasts of fat-tire biking. The event also incorporates youth cross-country, regional races, and an ecological ride in addition to the main national XCP event.
