About this race
The La Sportiva Lavaredo Ultra Trail is a June trail-running series held in Cortina d'Ampezzo, within the UNESCO-listed Dolomites of northern Italy. Established in 2007, it now features five distances: 120K, 80K, 50K, 20K, and 10K. The primary event is the Lavaredo 120K, a 120 km mountain ultra covering 5,800 metres of elevation gain with a 30-hour cutoff. The shorter races are also demanding mountain courses, ranging from the 80K with 4,600 metres of climbing to the 10K with 300 metres. This variety accommodates elite ultrarunners, seasoned trail runners, and participants opting for shorter distances.
The 120K begins and concludes on Corso Italia in Cortina d'Ampezzo. A notable point is reaching the Tre Cime di Lavaredo around sunrise. The 80K is the sole point-to-point race, commencing in Val Marzon near Auronzo di Cadore and ending on Corso Italia, with a 22-hour limit. June mountain weather can fluctuate between 4 and 19 degrees Celsius, requiring runners to prepare for cool nights and milder daytime conditions. Additionally, a Lavaredo Kids Race is held, broadening the event beyond adult long-distance races.
