Lago Santo Skyrace is a mountain running event held in October in Sant'Annapelago, Pievepelago, near Modena, in the Modenese Apennines. The main event is a 29 km skyrace covering 2,000 m of elevation gain. Shorter competitive trail races and non-competitive routes are also available for those seeking a mountain day without the pressure of competition.
The 29 km route crosses the western ridge of the Monte Giovo massif, featuring long ascents, high-altitude sections, and exposed Apennine terrain. The Short Trail also reaches the ridge, offering views towards the Apuan Alps while bypassing technical or exposed parts. The non-competitive path follows the Sentiero delle Cascate, suitable for running, walking, or leisurely exploration. TEAM MUD AND SNOW ASD organizes the event, which doubles as a round of the Emilia-Romagna Regional Skyrunning Championship and the conclusion of the Trail dei Parchi dell'Emilia circuit.
