The Maratona di Reggio Emilia Città del Tricolore begins and ends in Piazza della Vittoria, placing the city center at both ends of a 42.195 km race. This December road marathon takes place in Reggio Emilia, Emilia-Romagna, featuring a certified course and FIDAL Global Calendar sanctioning. The event also hosts the Mezza Maratona del Tricolore, catering to both full marathon and half marathon participants.
The route departs the piazza, crossing the countryside surrounding Reggio Emilia before concluding at the same central finish. Professional and amateur athletes compete together, with separate men's and women's races and categories for Promesse, Master, and Senior runners. The marathon holds Silver level status. The 29th edition was won by Eritrea's Shumay and Rwanda's Mukandanga, with Putti and Broggi also winning races on the day.
