Trail della Pietra 2026

The Trail della Pietra is a trail running event held in Castelnovo ne' Monti, within the Reggio Emilia region of Italy. Its race designations are inspired by Dante Alighieri: Inferno is the 42 km course featuring 2,200 meters of elevation gain, Purgatorio spans 23 km with 1,200 meters, Paradiso covers 13 km with 700 meters, and the non-competitive Camminata is 8 km with 300 meters. The events commence in the morning, beginning with the longest route. The courses are situated within the Parco Naturale dell'Appennino Tosco-Emiliano, offering mountain and hillside running distinct from flat road races. Participants can select a challenging marathon-distance trail, a medium-distance race with significant climbing, or a shorter, steep route, alongside a non-competitive option for walkers. This marks the 11th edition of the series, with its structure highlighting the local stone, trails, and Apennine landscape as the primary attractions.
