About this race
The Trofeo Sant'Agata is a road race held in central Catania, Sicily, during the Sant'Agata festivities in early February. It is a fast, albeit technical, city race, not a straightforward time trial, featuring seven laps on a compact circuit centered on via Vittorio Emanuele.
The course begins and ends on via Vittorio Emanuele, winding through adjacent streets such as via Ventimiglia, via Teatro Massimo, via Rapisardi, via Antonino di Sangiuliano, and via Etnea. The demanding pace of the circuit can favor runners accustomed to track speeds. Olympic steeplechaser Osama Zoghlami has secured victory here multiple times, and marathoner Daniele Meucci, a past champion and former European marathon titleholder, demonstrates the caliber of distance runners who compete.
