The Lago Maggiore Marathon is a Sunday race series held on the Italian shore of Lake Maggiore. The marathon and half marathon begin together from Arona Lungolago in the morning. The full marathon covers 42 km from Arona to Verbania-Pallanza. The event also includes a half marathon, a 33 km race, and a 10 km race, allowing participants to select from a short lakeside run to the full point-to-point distance.
The marathon route traces the lake, passing through the Borromean Gulf before concluding at Verbania Pallanza Lungolago. Field sizes are limited: 900 runners for the marathon, 1,400 for the half marathon, 500 for the 33 km, and 700 for the 10 km. The 33 km race commences from Arona after the marathon and half marathon start. The 10 km race begins later from Fondotoce, near the Camping Isolino entrance. The event village is open on the Arona waterfront on Friday and Saturday. Awards are presented at the Pallanza finish area, featuring overall prizes and FIDAL category prizes.
