About this race
Runners begin after sunset at Saitama Stadium. The 20 km and 30 km races start first, with the 5 km and 10 km races commencing half an hour later. This event is part of a Night Run series, designed for those seeking a supported evening race instead of a typical road race through city streets. The marathon offers four distances, limits entries to 2,300 participants, and ensures the course remains lit until the program concludes at night.
The route prominently features the stadium itself. Participants will pass the main gate, run around the exterior, and traverse indoor sections including the main concourse, spectator seating, the pitch area, underground passages, and underground parking. Aid is provided at regular intervals, with water and sponge stations every 1-2 km. There are four aid stations for the 5 km and 10 km races, and six for the 20 km and 30 km races. Pacers for the longer races maintain a pace between 4:15 and 5:30 per kilometer. Baggage check is available for 45-liter bags, and the mascot Gamba-kun contributes to the local, stadium-day atmosphere.
