Recurring 10K races near Utrecht

Races that repeat — weekly, monthly or yearly

Harbour Run Rotterdam
SUN OCT 4
Harbour Run Rotterdam guides participants through the working port of Rotterdam, featuring obstacles such as climbing over large containers. This annual obstacle run in Rotterdam, Zuid-Holland, Netherlands, typically takes place in October, offering 6 km and 10 km distances instead of a conventional road-race format. The course navigates Rotterdam's port areas, presenting an industrial landscape rather than parkland or city streets. SportVibes organizes the event, collaborating with obstacle, course, and business partners, as well as the Port of Rotterdam, with their partnership extending to 2028. Companies can register business teams for colleagues to compete together, and the event also benefits Ronald McDonald Huis Sophia Rotterdam.
Rondje Bergen
SUN OCT 4
Rondje Bergen is a running event in Bergen, North Holland, taking place on the first Sunday of October. It features short youth races of 1 and 2 kilometers, alongside 5K, 10K, and a 10 English mile option (16.1 kilometers), providing suitable distances for children, first-timers, club runners, and more serious participants. The route begins within the village: youth races are confined to the center, while longer distances traverse Bergen’s center, the Bergerbos, and the North Holland dune area. The event incorporates Bergen’s character as an artist village, establishing it as a relaxed gathering spot for runners and spectators, with old woods, wide lanes, dunes, and village streets combined within this local race day.
Langs de Gouweloop Waddinxveen
SUN OCT 4
Langs de Gouweloop is a local road race in Waddinxveen, organized by Sportclub Antilope. The start and finish are on Gouweplein at the town’s shopping center. The program includes a 1.3 km kids run, and 5 km and 10 km performance runs for older participants. From Gouweplein, the route goes past the train station between Coenecoop and the Triangel district. A large part of the race takes place in Triangel before returning to the shopping center. The event has passed fifty editions, making it a long-running fixture.
De Beuningse Plasloop
SUN OCT 4
The De Beuningse Plasloop is an annual run in Beuningen, Gelderland, organized around the lake at the edge of town. This local road race includes 10 km and 5 km distances, two Kidsrun options, and an Ondernemersrun for corporate teams. The event accommodates a wide range of participants for its size: children, adult runners, competitive athletes, framerunners, and business teams are all included in the program. The course circles a former sand extraction site and follows the Beuningse Plas, primarily on paved paths outside the town limits. The route is mostly clear of vehicle traffic, with W.S.V. "de Beuningse Plas" acting as the start, finish, and central point. Post-race, participants gather at the clubhouse terrace, where volunteers from the watersports club offer drinks. The race employs electronic timing, posts results later, and presents medals and awards across multiple categories, including a special prize for the quickest entrepreneur.
AV Spirit Wintercup
SUN OCT 4
The AV Spirit Wintercup is a winter running and walking series in Lelystad, Flevoland, with a race on the first Sunday of each month from October through March. It is AV Spirit's primary recreational running event in the city, offering sportier runners proper distances to compete. The program typically includes an 800 m KidsRun, a youth or short course of about 2 km, 5 km and 10 km runs, and a 5 km walk. All races start and finish on the AV Spirit athletics track, with routes extending into a wooded area near Lelystad. The field is intentionally broad, welcoming children, adults, AV Spirit members, non-members, first-timers, walkers, club runners, and experienced runners. Entry fees are kept low, late registration is permitted, and the event is capped at approximately 500 participants. A Business Run is also included, allowing local teams to participate alongside individual runners and walkers.
Oosterhoutse Trail
SAT OCT 10
The Oosterhoutse Trail is a trail race in Oosterhout, offering 10 km, 18 km, and 26 km distances. It takes place on a Saturday in October. The start times are staggered, with the 26 km race beginning first, followed by the 18 km, and then the 10 km. The event marks its 10th edition, making this running an anniversary one. Organizers describe the course as challenging and varied. More route details are expected, and information from the previous edition's route is provided for context.
Run Oldebroek
SAT OCT 10
Run Oldebroek is a running and walking event in Oldebroek, Gelderland, Netherlands, held in October. The main running distances are 5 km and 10 km, with an additional 10 km walk. The event is designed for local runners, walkers, families, and beginners, as well as more experienced club runners. Children in primary school can participate in the KidsRun. Younger children complete one 400-meter loop, while those aged 9 and older run the loop twice. The event has a participant limit of 300. Race-day facilities include parking, changing rooms, showers, and first aid. Entry fees also support Stichting GlobalRize, a Dutch foundation focused on sharing the gospel online.
Jan Louter Loop
SAT OCT 10
The Janlouterloop begins at AV Fortuna on Watersportweg in Vlaardingen, leading runners into the Vlaardingse Broekpolder during autumn. Organized by AV Fortuna and affiliated with the Atletiekunie, the race offers 5, 10, or 15 kilometer distances. Starts are scheduled in late-morning waves, with entry fees varying by distance. The race commemorates Jan Louter, a former AV Fortuna trainer and dedicated runner who passed away from pancreatic cancer. He coached multiple running groups at the club, logged extensive mileage, and was known for his motivating enthusiasm. Net proceeds benefit Support Casper, a program of the Dutch Foundation Survive Pancreatic Cancer.
Dordtse Biesbosch Trailrun
SAT OCT 10
The Dordtse Biesbosch Trailrun begins and ends at the organizer's grounds on Schenkeldijk in Dordrecht, South Holland. This trail race crosses the Nieuwe Dordtse Biesbosch, offering distance options from short Family Runs to a half marathon. Participants can select 3 km or 5 km Family Run courses, a standard 5 km, 10 km, 10 English Miles, or a 21.1 km half marathon, catering to children, novice runners, and those seeking a longer off-road challenge. The courses feature narrow paved paths, unpaved tracks, sandy stretches, and dikes, leading through the Nieuwe Dordtse Biesbosch, the floodplains beside the Nieuwe Merwede, and the Elzenbos. The trail surface may present puddles, streams, branches, and tree trunks, making the race a test of adaptability to varied terrain rather than a pursuit of speed on a smooth road. The start-finish area provides baggage drop-off and changing facilities. The event maintains a relaxed outdoor atmosphere with campfires, marshmallow roasting for children post-race, and refreshments including coffee, tea, soft drinks, satay, and beer.
Vestingloop Edam
SUN OCT 11
Vestingloop Edam sends runners over the old fortifications of Edam, in North Holland, with the finish on the Baandervesting near the chain bridge. It is an October road race with four options: 1 km and 2.6 km youth runs, a 3-mile recreational run, and a 10 km race that has both competitive and recreational fields. The event is organised by AV Edam, is affiliated with the Atletiekunie, and caps entries at 1,000 runners. The route over the Vesting is the part that has stayed constant since the first edition in 1954, even though the distances have changed from the original 5 km. The youth races start at the Baandervesting, while the 3-mile and 10 km runners start on the Noordervesting; the 10 km is almost four laps. Timing is handled by bib chips for the 3-mile and 10 km races and shoe chips for the youth races, with medals for the first three boys and girls and cash prizes in several 10 km age categories.
A.Vogelloop
SAT OCT 17
The A.Vogelloop is a trail and forest run in 't Harde, beginning and ending in the A. Vogel gardens at the visitor center on Eperweg. The event utilizes the Zwaluwenburg estate, opened for the race by Geldersch Landschap & Kasteelen, with a field limit of 500 runners. It includes short children's races of 600 meters and 1,200 meters, plus 5 km and 10 km options for older youth and adults. The event is family-friendly: children have their own races within the gardens, while recreational runners and faster competitors use the longer program. The adult route is an unpaved 5 km loop that departs the A. Vogel gardens and runs through the forest, passing beech trees, rhododendrons, and a forest pond; 10 km runners complete the loop twice. The youngest children run one garden lap, and the 1,200-meter race uses two laps. Dispensatio organizes the race with A. Vogel and Geldersch Landschap & Kasteelen, maintaining the child-focused spirit seen in the Wallenloop and Havenloop. Around the visitor center are toilets, a water tap, coffee, tea, soft drinks, a pagoda tent, product stalls, first aid, and an AED. Participants are encouraged to arrive by bike, though parking is available.
Maliebaanloop
SUN OCT 18
The Maliebaanloop is a running event in Utrecht, held on the third Sunday of October on and around the Maliebaan. Organizers refer to the Maliebaan as the most beautiful running track in the Netherlands. It accommodates a wide range of participants, offering short youth races for children, 5 km and 10 km runs for individuals aged 14 and older, and separate 5 km and 10 km NSK races for students. The youngest participants, aged 4 to 9, compete in a 1 km race. Those aged 10 to 13 have a 2.5 km youth race. Adults and older teenagers can opt for the 5 km or 10 km performance run individually, form teams of 4, 5, or 6 runners, or register for relay events. The event also features children's activities, a registration area, and live music, contributing to its atmosphere as a local community race rather than a large city marathon.

About 10K races in Utrecht

Utrecht Training Notes

Utrecht hosts 116 10K races in 2026 within 80 km of the city centre — upcoming dates, recurring series, and other races nearby, all in one place.

Locals run the Singel when they want a clean city loop with plenty to see. The Singel route gives you 5K around the historical city centre along the canals, and Rondje Singel stretches closer to 8-9K. Maximapark gives marathon runners an 8K loop, and the Haarrijnse plassen add-on brings it to 10K. Amelisweerd can get you a little lost, in a good way. In Utrecht We Run Club meets at Cupp on Wednesday evenings and Sunday mornings. Utrecht Running Project starts from Neude. Singelloop Utrecht, ZomerAvondCup Utrecht, and Utrecht Marathon are the anchor races.

Locals ride because Utrecht is built for it, and 51% of trips inside the city already happen by bike. De Stijl bicycle route gives you 23K between Utrecht and Amersfoort when you want culture with base miles. Utrechtse Heuvelrug gives the climbing, the forests, and the gravel, especially toward Austerlitz and Zeist. Koningslaan gives you a 1-kilometer gravel path, and the 77K gravel route hits Hilversum heath, Paleis Soestdijk, Vliegbasis Soesterberg, and Kozakkenput. CS030, cTc Fietsen, RTC De Domstad, Lombok Peppers, and WV het Stadion keep the bunch rides moving. De Ronde van Nieuw Engeland is the local crit marker.

April usually gives the driest training block, so locals stack Z2, intervals, and longer rides before summer gets busy. July and August bring the warmest days, and the city feels easy for evening laps around the Singel or steady rides out toward De Bilt, Zeist, and the Utrechtse Heuvelrug. Autumn gets wetter from mid-September, but the cycle paths still handle it well. November through February feel colder and wetter, so runners stay close to Maximapark, Amelisweerd, or the city centre. Cyclists swap some race-bike time for ATB, cyclocross, and offroad miles.
