43e Tata Steel Marquetteloop

The Marquetteloop is an annual running event in Heemskerk, North Holland, offering races from 1.3 km up to the half marathon distance of 21.1 km. Organized by AV Dem and affiliated with the Atletiekunie, the day accommodates a wide range of runners: young children, school pupils, families, recreational runners, teams, and competitive club runners all have specific program slots. Children can compete in 1,300 m or 3,300 m races, the Tata Kids of Steel Run, while adults and older runners can select 7 km, 14 km, or 21.1 km distances. The event has a capacity of 2,500 participants, with on-site registration available if spots remain. The route winds through the Heemskerk area, utilizing both paved and unpaved roads, and includes aid stations. The youth races, featuring a school championship and free running clinics for children. All finishers receive a medal, a drink, and an ice cream voucher, providing a straightforward, friendly reward for the children's races. Teams of four to eight individuals can enter the Team Run over 7 km, 14 km, or 21.1 km; team members receive a snack and drink post-race, and the quickest team is awarded a cup.
