8 van Chaam Classic

The 8 van Chaam Classic begins and ends at Sportpark Groot Heivelt on the Gilzeweg in Chaam, a Dutch village near the Belgian border. It is a signposted cycling tour, not an elite-only race, with participants selecting between 80 km and 125 km routes. The start window is from 08:00 to 10:00, the rest stop closes at 14:00, and all riders must finish by 16:00. WV Smeekens, with the Comité Acht van Chaam, organizes the ride, utilizing V.V. Chaam's club facilities, which include showers, a canteen, parking, and guarded bike storage. The routes depart from Chaam into wooded areas, then follow quiet roads through the Brabant and Flemish border region. Rest stops offer sports drink, fruit, and cookies, with a drink provided at the finish. The event connects to Chaam’s cycling heritage via the Acht van Chaam, the village’s post-Tour criterium, with a portion of each entry fee supporting that committee. A 35 km family ride is available for families and recreational cyclists, and participants can enter a raffle for meet-and-greet tickets with professional riders.
