About this race
The Gaperloop begins and ends at Verenigingsgebouw De Spil in Gapinge, a Dutch village. This Friday evening road race features both 5 km and 10 km events starting at 19:30. The course is described as fast and flat, encouraging runners to aim for personal bests.
The race offers two distances, with a village start and finish, set against a backdrop of open countryside. All participants receive a pair of Gaper running socks. The inaugural event was won by Erwin Harmes and Carolien van de Kreeke, who finished well ahead of other competitors. Harmes was more than four minutes ahead, and Van de Kreeke was over five minutes ahead after ten kilometers. Middelburg station is the closest train station, located approximately 5.5 km from the finish line.
