Alkmaar City Run by night 2026

The Alkmaar City Run by night takes participants through Alkmaar’s city center after dark on the evening before Ascension Day. This Run & Swing event offers four distances: 0.8 km and 1.6 km for children and adapted sports, and 5 km and 10 km for men, women, and business teams. The event has a maximum of 10,000 participants, making it a substantial city event. The main races begin on Koorstraat, utilizing Alkmaar’s center with music and nightlife integrated into the event. Following the race, the Grote Kerk hosts the After Run Party, with free admission for all and a children’s disco held earlier. Le Champion organizes the event, which provides public-transport access, first aid, AEDs, and a supervised cloakroom. Participants have raised over €30,322 for Metakids.
