About this race
The AVH Nightrun is a Halloween night race held in the Haarlemmermeerse Bos on October 31, organized by AV Haarlemmermeer. Participants run with headlamps through a forest illuminated for the event, accompanied by music and a Halloween theme. The available distances are 5.1 km and 8.88 km. Younger runners have a separate 0.888 km race, divided into two age categories: 9-12 years and 1-8 years.
The course winds through the woods and features a climb up Big Spotters Hill, making it more than just a flat run in the dark. All participants are provided with a headlamp, and children finishing the youth run receive a medal. The youth races begin in the early evening, with the 5.1 km and 8.88 km races starting later at night.
