AVIKO Gravel Kruisbergtocht

The AVIKO MTB Kruisbergtocht is an annual autumn mountain-bike and gravel ride starting at Sporthal De Hessenhal in Hoog-Keppel, Gelderland. Toerclub Steenderen organizes it around the Keppel, Doetinchem, and Hummelo region. Signed ATB routes are available in 25 and 40 km, alongside a newer 80 km gravel route navigated by GPX. The shorter mountain-bike distances are suitable for mixed groups, while the distinct gravel option provides a longer challenge on varied terrain for stronger cyclists. The mountain-bike course incorporates local sites like Hagen, Kruisberg, and Ulenpas, featuring a skill section at Kruisberg. Participants will also encounter a loop over Heksenplas and terrain associated with Motorsportvereniging TCD Hummelo, making the ride distinct from a basic forest circuit. Families with children may find it beneficial to start slightly after the initial wave to avoid faster riders. Upon completion, all participants receive a serving of AVIKO fries, a traditional Dutch conclusion to an off-road event.
