Burchtloop Honselersdijk

Burchtloop is an evening road race in Honselersdijk, Westland, Netherlands. The 5 km and 10 km races begin after the children's events. These main races are part of the Aaff Zomer Runcircuit and occur during Honselersdijk festival week, giving it the feel of a local summer event rather than a separate athletics competition. Over 500 runners completed the race last year, with capacity for up to 1,000 participants. AV Olympus '70 organizes the Burchtloop, which is affiliated with the Atletiekunie. The course passes by the greenhouses characteristic of the Westland region, providing a distinct local setting. Younger participants can enter 500 m and 1 km races without prior registration. The 5 km race is open to those aged 10 and older, and the 10 km race is for those aged 14 and older. Both recreational and competitive club runners participate. Participants receive bibs, timing, aid during and after the race, and small prizes or souvenirs for youth runners. Registration on the day of the race is not available, which is significant given the participant cap and the race's integration into a busy festival week schedule.
