Campus Trail

The Campus Trail is an annual fun run held on the Zernike Campus in Groningen, beginning at the Energy Barn on Zernikelaan. This is a short race, approximately 4 miles, available in Dutch and English. It is designed for campus life rather than competitive racers. Campus Groningen initiated the event, collaborating with partners such as Hanze University of Applied Sciences, the University of Groningen, Bedrijvenvereniging WEST, ACLO, and the Sports Centre. Paul van Put Events manages the event's logistics. The route winds through and beside various campus buildings, allowing participants to view the working campus via indoor passages, outdoor paths, and inter-departmental spaces. Music is featured along the course, with a musical warm-up preceding the start. Water and fruit are provided on the route, and refreshments are available afterward. Companies can form teams, and students, staff, local runners, and supporters are all welcome. Every participant receives a start group assignment, a race number, and a medal upon finishing.
