About this race
The De Mol LadiesToer, now known as the Simac Ladies Tour, is a women's road cycling stage race held in the Netherlands and neighboring Belgium. Established in 1998, it is part of the UCI Women's WorldTour, attracting top professional teams instead of just local competitors. The race was founded by Wim van Duivenbode and Leo van der Wal, who aimed to give the Netherlands its own significant women's tour, recognizing the country's abundance of strong riders and teams.
Recent courses have featured a combination of circuit stages and a short time trial, with starts and finishes in locations like Leuven, Gennep, Zeewolde, Alkmaar, Doetinchem, Westendorp, and Lichtenvoorde. Stage lengths vary, from a 10.2 km time trial to road stages exceeding 150 km, offering opportunities for sprinters, time-trial specialists, and all-rounders throughout the event. The race has completed 25 editions, yielding 19 distinct overall winners. Recent stage results include fast finishes by Lorena Wiebes and a time-trial victory by Zoe Backstedt.
