Derry X-MAS Gravelride

The Derry X-MAS Gravelride begins and ends at the Burcht in Nijkerk, Gelderland, following the Christmas break. This is a gravel tour, not a race, offering route choices of 40, 58, and 75 km. Participants can select a shorter winter ride or a longer excursion across varied terrain. The facilities are suited for bikes used in muddy conditions and for cold weather, including showers, changing areas, bike washing stations, and secure bicycle storage. The route proceeds through Diermen and Telgt towards the Groevenbeekse Heide, then crosses the Sprielderbos to Speulde before its return. Cyclists will encounter forests, heathlands, quiet gravel lanes, cobblestones, muddy sections, narrow woodland trails, and farms within the flat Gelderland landscape. The organizers describe it as a leisurely ride allowing time for interaction among participants. Additionally, distinct Burcht Gravel routes feature more challenging segments for mountain bikers and seasoned gravel cyclists.
