About this race
The Eneco Vuurtorenloop Hoek van Holland is a Friday-evening road run held in Hoek van Holland, South Holland, using the Torpedoloods as its base. The program offers runners several distances: a half marathon, 10 km, 6 km, a kids run, and a 1 km option. It is designed as a relaxed start to the weekend, featuring electronic timing and aid stations, with an emphasis on enjoyment. Entry is limited to 3,000 participants, and the half marathon and 10 km often sell out.
The paved course runs along the north bank of the Nieuwe Waterweg, incorporating local landmarks. Runners will pass the Hoekse lighthouses and the Maeslantkering, with other sights like Stena Line, Staelduinse Bos, and Nieuwlandsepark nearby. Following the run, the event includes a gathering at the Torpedoloods, making the evening as much social as sporting. This is the third edition of the event, which also serves to support the fight against ALS.
