About this race
Freedom Run - Liberty Loop is a recreational running event in Geldrop, centered on the town’s remembrance of liberation and wartime history. Held in September, it offers adult runners four main distances: 4 miles, 8 miles, 10 miles, and a half marathon. The shorter race distances are named for veterans Bill, Joe, and Armando, while the half marathon is named for Montgomery.
The event also includes options for children and walkers. Primary school children can participate in a free Kidsrun over either a half mile or a mile. Schools or associations can compete for a trophy awarded to the largest group. Guided walks through Geldrop visit war monuments and streets named after local resistance fighters, including Henri van der Putt, Harrie van Gestel, and Jan Heurkens.
