About this race
The Galgenberg Trail begins at De Blauwe Schuur in Amerongen, bordering the State Forests, leading runners directly into the woods. This trail race consists of three distinct 9 km loops, allowing participants to select either a 9, 18, or 27 km distance in advance.
Every loop commences and concludes at the Blauwe Schuur basecamp, simplifying the structure for both runners and their support crews. The courses traverse heathland, forest trails, and single tracks, featuring 100 metres of elevation gain per loop. This results in 100 metres of climbing for the 9 km distance, 200 metres for 18 km, and 300 metres for 27 km. The format is suitable for newcomers to trail running, while the repeated ascents and off-road terrain provide a challenging workout for seasoned participants.
