About this race
Runners dressed as Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus complete a 5 km run through Amersfoort's center on a Friday evening before Christmas. The Kerstmannenloop is a social fun run, focusing on moving together through the city rather than achieving a specific time.
The run begins and ends at Oliemolenhof in De Nieuwe Stad. The course follows the Eem from De Nieuwe Stad, passes through the city center, and circles back via Oude Fabriekstraat and Oliemolenhof. Approximately 1,600 Santas and Mrs. Clauses participate, and the event can sell out. Following the run, attendees enjoy mulled wine and a dance party at Zandfoort aan de Eem. A portion of the proceeds benefits Stichting WereldOuders, supporting vulnerable children in Latin America.
