About this race
The KokkieBikes Hellendoornse bossentocht is a mountain bike tour through the Hellendoorn woods, starting from De Huttert near Luttenberg in the morning. Cycling Lemelerveld organizes the event, and riders choose a shorter, middle, or longer route, with reported options including 25 km and distances around 35 to 60 km depending on the edition.
The riding is proper forest MTB: technical singletrack, short hard climbs, and descents that give the legs a break before the next effort. Volunteers mark the course with orange ribbons, aid stations let riders top up food and drink, and one report counted 530 participants from around the country. The autumn setting matters here too: riders were out under low-season sun, through coloured woods, on routes that stayed mostly in good shape even after heavy rain.
