The Leidse Houtloop is a running event in Leiden, centered on the Leidse Hout park and the athletics track used by Leiden Atletiek. Participants can select 5 km, 10 km, or 15 km routes, with children completing a 1 km loop on the track. The start and finish are located at the athletics track, giving the event a club race atmosphere rather than that of a large city road race.
The course winds through and around the Leidse Hout, providing the race with a distinct local character instead of a point-to-point design. Leiden Atletiek organizes the event, which is affiliated with the Atletiekunie. A special 5 km edition was also included in the park’s 90th-anniversary festival program, featuring two small starts limited to 45 runners each. Amenities include public transport access, changing rooms, showers, and first aid, with no late registration available.
