About this race
Natuurloop Brakel is a trail run held in and around Brakel, East Flanders. It begins at Sporthal De Rijdt on Jagersstraat and provides four distance options: 12 km, 20 km, 28 km, and 50 km. This allows participants to select anything from a short, hilly trail effort to an ultramarathon. The elevation gain increases with distance: 180 m for the 12 km, 320 m for the 20 km, 510 m for the 28 km, and 850 m for the 50 km. The 50 km distance is also eligible for the UTMB Index, adding appeal for runners aiming to build an ultra or trail-racing profile.
The courses are fully marked, with a clear focus on varied natural terrain over flat road running. All distances include aid at the finish line. The 20 km and 28 km routes feature additional aid stations on the course, while the 50 km has two more. Participants receive a medal, and insurance is included. A portion of the entry fee supports Agentschap Natuur en Bos. The event is cup-free, requiring runners to provide their own cup or soft flask.
