The Oost Achterhoek Tocht - Wild & Vri-j begins at the Wild & Vri-j festival grounds in Zieuwent, Gelderland, sending participants into the eastern Achterhoek on a September weekend. TC Velocé organizes this gravel tour, offering route lengths of 33, 45, 77, 110, and 124 km. This allows riders to select a short off-road excursion or a longer ride on varied terrain. The event is integrated with the festival: routes are available on both Saturday and Sunday, overnight accommodations can be reserved, and the festival site provides showers, changing facilities, bike washing stations, and secure bike parking. The course consists of approximately 80% off-road sections, with a maximum of 150 meters of elevation gain. The difficulty stems from the terrain and distance rather than significant climbs. Riders will travel through the Oost Achterhoek countryside near Zieuwent, navigating rolling country lanes, open fields, narrow paths between churches, farm tracks alongside agricultural properties, and green meadows. Following the ride, the festival features country, blues, and roots bands, with beer served on location. Past events have featured country dancing in the church square and a complimentary beer at the finish, contributing to a local weekend atmosphere distinct from a typical gravel event.
