Rondje Nederland is a 1,200-kilometer team relay held in the Netherlands over 48 hours to raise funds for Cycle for Hope. Teams begin in Dordrecht, South Holland, and ride in shifts rather than having a single rider cover the entire distance. It is structured as a demanding cycling challenge with a clear charitable objective: supporting individuals with addiction or psychological issues through the initiatives of De Hoop.
The course takes teams across the nation, offering a varied Dutch cycling experience: the lengthy Zeelandbrug, Limburg's short ascents, and the exposed northern routes where Groningen's wind can intensify each kilometer. Riders also face the typical Dutch weather unpredictability: cold, rain, sun, headwinds, and varying daylight. A team requires a minimum of 9 riders and 6 support staff, making the event reliant on meticulous planning, sleep coordination, nutrition, transportation, and mutual support when conditions become difficult. A past edition involved 206 riders across 11 teams, generating €184,029 from 2,485 donations.
