About this race
RUNFORESTRUN Drents Friese Wold is a winter trail run within Drents-Friese Wold National Park, situated on the border of Drenthe and Friesland. Participants can select from distances of 13, 22, and 43 kilometers, accommodating those seeking a brief trail excursion or a lengthy, demanding run. The event is limited to 600 participants, maintaining a more intimate scale compared to large road races and emphasizing a nature-focused trail experience.
The course winds past the Kanadameer, crosses heathland, and enters the largest contiguous forest in the Netherlands. It also features the Aekingerzand area, offering varied terrain and short, challenging inclines, distinguishing it from a simple flat forest run. Registration closes prior to the event, with no late entries accepted, requiring participants to register ahead of time.
