About this race
Snertloop De Lutte is a winter road race held in De Lutte, a village in the Twente region of the eastern Netherlands. The race begins at Dorpshoes Erve Boerrigter on Plechelmusstraat, featuring three course options: 5.3 km, 9.6 km, and a free 2.4 km event for children aged 12 and under. Loopgroep De Lutte is the organizing body. Chip timing is provided for the longer distances, and the event has a participant cap of 1,100, meaning the registration list can fill rapidly.
The course extends from the village into the undulating terrain and woodlands surrounding De Lutte. The youth distance route incorporates the nearby Kerkebos. Participants include club athletes, competitive runners, novices, and children. Awards are presented to the top three finishers in each category. A distinctive local element is the namesake "snert" (thick Dutch pea soup), which is served to all participants upon completion, complementing the cold-weather nature of the event.
