About this race
The Stamppot 200 is a winter gravel ride in Drenthe, beginning and ending at Brasserie Oer on the Holtingerveld in Havelte. It takes place on the third day of Christmas as a gravel option to the Drenthe 200 mountain bike marathon, with participants selecting either 200 km or 100 km. The long route commences before sunrise, so the day starts in darkness with coffee before cyclists depart onto chosen Drenthe paths. It also fits within the Festive500 period, offering riders a method to add a substantial block of holiday kilometers.
The route is provided as a GPX file instead of being marked with arrows, meaning riders navigate themselves and are responsible for remaining on course. A halfway point offers bottle refills and food from Oer’s kitchen. The atmosphere is functional rather than fussy: participants may shorten the course if necessary to return for the meal. At the finish, Brasserie Oer serves stamppot with a meatball or vegetarian meatball, and a regional Güla beer can accompany it before the bar’s final call in the early evening.
