The Toertocht GP Venray Wielerspektakel is a recreational cycling tour that is part of a full day of cycling at Raceway Circuit Venray in North Limburg. This venue is typically used for car racing. The tour, named Chasse Patate, begins and ends on the circuit, offering everyday riders a unique opportunity to cycle from a motorsport environment into the surrounding region. The GP Venray event is scheduled for July and was initially conceived by five local cycling enthusiasts aiming to introduce track cycling at a venue designed for speed.
The day caters to various rider types. Official KNWU youth races commence the schedule, followed by a Dikke Bandenrace for children aged 2 to 12, emphasizing enjoyment over competition. Teams can also compete in a Corporate & Fun Class Team Time Trial on the oval circuit. The program further features a Prominentenrace for former professionals and well-known personalities, including Peter Winnen. The organizers, originating from the Venray sports community, have structured the event to highlight cycling, youth involvement, local sports, and a relaxed race-day ambiance.
