Veluwse Groot Boeschoten Trail & Walk

The Groot Boeschoten Trail & Walk begins at Camping de Zanderij in Voorthuizen, leading participants into Boeschoten, a Staatsbosbeheer nature reserve on the western Veluwe edge. Organized by Cairn Trails & Adventures, this September event offers trail routes for running and walking, distinct from road races. It caters to all ages, presenting itself as a communal outdoor sports day rather than an exclusive competition. Boeschoten, known as the Entree van de Veluwe, marks the Veluwe's western start. Its forests extend towards Speuld, Huinen, and Garderen, providing a woodland backdrop for the routes near the village. Groot- and Klein Boeschoten's historic sheepfolds have been present since 1800, with one featured on the trail's logo. Future editions will feature new routes, offering a different experience for returning participants.
