Zeijer Strubbenloop

The Zeijer Strubbenloop begins and ends near Café Hingstman in Zeijen, Drenthe. This event is included in the Univé Loopcircuit De Kop van Drenthe. It is a local running event drawing around 300 participants, including children. Four distances are offered, ranging from 1 to 10 km, alongside races for school-aged children who run shorter paved routes through the village. The 5 km and 10 km races commence in Zeijen, following a course that is partly unpaved as it heads toward the Zeijer Strubben. The route goes out via forest path and sandy track before returning to the village on a paved road. The 10 km participants run the loop twice. The course also winds through forest areas featuring Swedish dogwood. Café Hingstman functions as the central point for bib collection and the awards ceremony. A cash prize is available for anyone who breaks the course record in the 5 km or 10 km races.
