Checkpoint Melshei

About this race

Checkpoint Melshei begins and ends at SI-hytta in Melshei, Sandnes. It is a low-threshold Saturday morning trail run. Rather than following a single marked path from start to finish, participants pass three checkpoints within and surrounding Melshei, selecting their own routes between these points. This format combines trail running with a route-choice challenge, featuring separate categories for women and men. The terrain includes hilly forest, an extensive trail system, gravel roads, and some paved sections, making appropriate footwear important; trail or gravel shoes with good grip are advised. A shorter route option is typically hillier and more focused on forest trails, whereas a longer option may involve less ascent and quicker terrain. There are no aid stations on the course, but SI-hytta provides water, a kiosk accepting Vipps payments, restrooms, and showers. Parking is restricted, with staff present to assist; therefore, carpooling or arriving by bicycle is encouraged.
