About this race
The DNB Oslo Marathon begins and ends at Rådhusplassen in Oslo's center, with the Oslofjord nearby. This road race occurs on the third Saturday of September, providing multiple distances from a short city run to the full marathon. The event features the marathon, half marathon, 10 km, and 3 km, with recent details listing seven race distances overall.
The course runs along the Oslofjord's coast, with marathon participants completing this seaside path twice. Over 25,000 individuals participate, positioning it as one of Norway's largest road races. Club runners, novices, charity participants, and seasoned marathoners gather in the same event space. Sportsklubben Vidar and Oslo Maraton AS manage the race, focusing on quality of life, achievement, and community. The race originated in the early 1980s, resumed after an interruption, and currently holds course records of 2:15:58 for men and 2:43:26 for women.
